In a congratulatory message issued on Friday, Saliu praised Prof. Muhammad’s academic accomplishments, describing him as one of the scholars who attained the rank of professor at a relatively young age.
Prof. Muhammad currently serves as Vice President of the Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA), while also holding the positions of Interim Secretary and Director of Research and Publications at the NSIA.
According to Saliu, the celebrant previously served as Internal Auditor of the NPSA and was a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) before joining Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano, where he rose to the rank of professor.
Saliu said Prof. Muhammad has distinguished himself in the field of International Relations and Strategic Studies through extensive academic contributions.
“At last count, he has well over one hundred and thirty publications and still counting,” Saliu said, noting that his scholarly works have appeared in reputable international outlets, including Scopus-rated journals, while he has also contributed chapters to highly rated books.
The NSIA President also highlighted Muhammad’s editorial experience, having served as editor of several journals and currently as Editor of the Journal of International Studies of the society.
Saliu particularly commended the professor’s commitment to service and his ability to handle responsibilities assigned to him.
“What amazes me about the celebrant is the speed with which he delivers assignments given to him at both levels of the NPSA and NSIA,” he said.
He added that Prof. Muhammad’s diligence and willingness to learn informed the decision to entrust him with two key responsibilities in the ongoing effort to revive the NSIA.
“Prof. Muhammad is a man to watch. He is ever ready to learn and diligent in handling the duties of his offices,” Saliu stated.
As the professor marks the new age, Saliu expressed hope that the promise and achievements evident in his journey would continue to flourish.
“Our prayer is that the destiny which his life manifests will blossom to its fullest,” he said.
He congratulated Prof. Muhammad and wished him greater wisdom, impact and fulfilment in the years ahead.
