The bridge will be fully closed to traffic from Monday, September 7, until September 21, 2026, according to the Federal Ministry of Works. The intervention is intended to address urgent structural and road-surface issues, while the project also includes the installation of CCTV and streetlights.
Motorists have been advised to use the Second Niger Bridge as an alternative route during the closure period.
