The council is expected to advise the Bank of Ghana on the development of the country’s non-interest financial system, particularly in the areas of governance, regulation and Shariah compliance.
Professor Bashir Aliyu Umar’s appointment is seen as recognition of his years of contributions to the development of Islamic and non-interest finance in Nigeria and internationally.
